Writing Competition Refund Policy

For each competition we allow refund requests via email up until 48 hours before the submission deadline. To request a refund, please submit an email via our contact form here. 

Brand Product Return Policy

Our Return Policy for Humans Write branded products lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund. Any item marked "Final Sale" at checkout is non-refundable.

If your item arrived damaged or defective, we encourage you to document it by taking a photo.

Refunds (if the product is sealed, not opened)
Once your return is received, we will inspect the item for return. It must be free of damaging smells and remain unused. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. We do not cover return shipping costs at this time. A $1 processing fee will be charged for the returned order. 

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund within 7 business days, please contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be e-mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves, we will send a refund to the gift giver via the original method of payment.

Our E-Gift Cards are non-refundable (unless required by law) and subject to our Gift Card Terms below.

These Humans Write Gift Card Terms and Conditions (“Gift Card Terms”) set out the terms and conditions that apply to your purchase and redemption of any Humans Write Gift Card. Your purchase, use, or acceptance of a Humans Write Gift Card indicates your acceptance of these Gift Card Terms and incorporated herein by this reference, so please read them carefully. If you don’t agree to these Gift Card Terms, you may not purchase or redeem any Humans Write Gift Card.

1. Redemption & Balance

Humans Write Gift Cards can only be used to redeem eligible goods in the United States from the www.humanswrite.com. Humans Write Gift Cards cannot be reloaded, resold, transferred for value or redeemed for cash (except as required by law). 

No taxes are charged on the purchase of Humans Write Gift Cards.  Applicable taxes and shipping may be charged when Humans Write Gift Cards are redeemed. 

Purchases made with your Gift Card will be deducted from your Humans Write Balance. Any unused Balance will remain associated with your Humans Write account but if a purchase exceeds your Balance, you must pay the remaining amount with a credit card (or other approved payment method).

2. Limitations, Restrictions, Risk of Loss

Gift Cards are non-refundable. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen or destroyed humans Write Gift Cards or use by someone other than yourself or the intended Recipient, so please keep your Gift Card safe. These Gift Card Terms are subject to change without notice at any time and in our sole discretion. Humans Write Gift Cards are void where prohibited.

Use of Gift Cards for unauthorized advertising, marketing, sweepstakes or other promotional or commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. Humans Write Gift Cards may not be combined with certain promotional offers. We reserve the right to refuse Humans Write Gift Card sales to anyone and limit how many Humans Write Gift Cards an individual may purchase or redeem.  If we suspect that a Humans Write Gift Card is obtained, used or applied to a Humans Write purchase fraudulently, unlawfully or otherwise in violation of these Gift Card Terms, we reserve the right to void Humans Write Gift Cards or any component of your Humans Write Balance, and bill alternative forms of payment.

3. Expiration

Gift Cards expire after five years of inactivity. We don’t charge activation, service charges or fees.

 

Shipping

You will be responsible for paying for your own return shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your return to be received and processed could vary. 

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

E-Course Refunds

Your satisfaction with your Program, Product or Service is important to us. Yet, because of the extensive time, effort, preparation and care that goes into creating and/or providing our Programs, Products, Services and Program Materials, as well as you having access to everything upon purchase, we have a no refund policy. This is a common practice for e-courses and is standard policy for most online pre-paid courses. Unless otherwise provided by law, you acknowledge that we do not offer refunds for any portion of your payment for any of our Programs, Products, and Services, and no refunds will be provided to you at any time. By using and/or purchasing any of our Programs, Products, Services or Program Materials, you understand and agree that all sales are final and no refunds will be provided.
